This monster of a house in the Taylor Creek Neighborhood of Plymouth, MN posed a unique challenge for the whole Gonyea team. It was purchased by the new homeowners about half way through the build process and naturally they were eager to make some changes in order to accommodate their lifestyle and taste. The changes included a screen porch, extensive landscaping, upgraded driveway, lighting, home theater equipment, wine room, workout room and much more. This can be a difficult task all around and took great effort from all of our staff in order to keep the schedule moving along without major delays, keep track of all the changes to be made and still complete the house on time. The home features 5 Bedrooms, 6 Bathrooms, a screen porch, giant kitchen, workout room, wine room, high end finishes and great views over looking a future City of Plymouth park location.

Our latest model has been completed up in Andover, MN in our Miller's Woods Neighborhood, fully staged and ready to be toured. It features 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, granite counter tops in the kitchen, large recreation room and a built-in bar in the basement. Completed Eagan Kitchen Remodel

Newly completed kitchen remodel adds light, functionality and an updated style to an outdated 70's Colonial Two Story

White cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and white subway tile help to give this kitchen a new, bright, clean feeling. Varying cabinet heights/depths, along with the sink wall cutout to the family room create a variety of light, shadow and depth for the eye to follow. The island was finished with a beautiful stain and paneled ends to help it stand alone as a complimentary furniture piece, making it a focal point to the whole remodel, while still providing the functionality and stability of a permanent island structure. The rest of the project included a new gas insert added to a wood burning fireplace, refinishing the wood floors, new light fixtures, repairing and matching existing tile, refurbishing the laundry room, minor structural repairs to the exterior, new HVAC components, and refinishing the ceiling and doors throughout the home.

Hennepin County Library Installs Green Roof!

Caught the Hennepin County Library in Plymouth installing their green roof today!

A green roof is a good way to collect and filter rainwater, reduce heat island effect and reduce the use of traditional roofing materials.

The library was completed in 2010 and makes use of many sustainable building practices in addition to the green roof. A geothermal loop system to reduce use of non-renewable energy sources, high-tech HVAC systems to reduce energy waste, passive solar techniques for heating in the winter, sun shades for cooling in the summer and many other energy efficient technologies are all used to help reduce its footprint.

This amazing public library is just one of the many amenities that are only a couple miles down the road from our Spring Meadow and Taylor Creek neighborhoods.

Gonyea Remodeling has hired Josh Lee as our new Project Manager. Josh comes to us with over 10 years experience in the remodeling business. Josh has already started his first job remodeling a kitchen and adding a main floor guest bath to a 1928 Tudor in Highland Park in St. Paul. Josh is also starting on a screen porch addition to a 1937 home in St. Paul's Macalester Groveland neighborhood. We will have pictures throughout these projects for people to see.
